Are you ready to move on, move up, and get on with your career? Maybe you have just received that hard earned business degree, or decided it's time to change companies for a better career position. In either case, it is very important to dress for success when going on job interviews.

It only happened on Mondays. Sometimes I escaped the unpleasant
ritual. But, more often than not, right before boarding I threw
up in the ladies room of the train station. It wasn't the
commute I hated. It was the job.
The reasons don't matter why a job I once enjoyed turned into a
job I didn't. It happens. Bosses change, companies change,
priorities change, budgets change, responsibilities change. Some
changes bring personal growth and opportunity. Some don't.
What does matter was the lesson ...

skills, experience, education, and professional achievements
that make you qualified for a position. A good resume will
accurately inform an employer about your background. A great
resume, however, can do much more. A great resume has the
ability to persuade an employer that you have the unique talent
and experience desired and that you deserve a personal ...

Deciding to leave a job isn't easy. In fact, quitting a job
requires courage, especially in today's soft economy when the
unemployment rate has reached 6.4%. However, in a tight job
market, some people consider leaving their jobs without having
another "lined up".
When after a careful evaluation of emotional and financial
considerations you determine that leaving your job is your best
option, you may find that you will have a hard time getting
support from your family, friends and colleagues. ...

I Just Lost My Job: How Am I Going To Tell My Kids? By Judith
Lindenberger
One of the responsibilities of a human resources professional is
to let employees know that their job has been eliminated. It is
seldom easy to do and often painful for the person who is
hearing the news.
Just recently, I was involved in communicating a large layoff to
employees at a Fortune 500 company. I sat with one woman after
she had heard the news to tell her about the career transition
services she could take ...

Today is a great day to begin the journey toward finding a job
you will love. Since you are attempting to create a brand new
future for yourself, I suggest you give this process some time.
Work your way through the steps below over a few weeks. It's a
good idea to approach this program like taking a class. Set
aside a specific time each week, such as Monday evenings at 7
p.m. Each week, read one step and work on it. Over the course of
the week, be sure to let each step percolate in your mind ...
